Rakhi
We live in a country where we can celebrate a festival almost everyday. Some of these festivals have great values in our life. Festivals are the expression of our happiness and prosperity. Recently we celebrated one of the most important festivals of Hindus, Rakhi. This is the festival of brother and sister, more precisely it is a festival of sisters. This day sisters tie a Rakhi on the wrist of brothers. Every year in India this festival is celebrated and subsequently family members have a chance to see each other if they are out of the town. A brother takes the oath to defend his sister when she is in trouble and gives her some gift. On the other hand sister pray for god and bless her brother to be always well and happy. But as the time is passing, we are more busy with our hectic life and many the values of festivals are decreasing year by year. This festival bring a brother and sister closer after some disputes or conflicts. This is the occasion where both meet and forget their conflicts and make the bond more strong.
Here we are missing one thing, every year sisters who live separately after marriage come to her father's house to tie a Rakhi to her brothers. She makes her bond strong with brothers but if the brothers have disputes amongst them, it remains as it. Because there is no festival like Rakhi which bring brothers closer. Even there is no Brothers day. So, why should the same day be used for reunion of brother-to-brother, why wait for another day like brothers day or something like that. Brothers should also come forward to forget their conflicts as on the occason of Rakhi, all brothers have got chance to meet collectively which is very rare in today's world due to developing nuclear families and geographical distance. We have to work on this and bring fraternity amongst all brothers.
